Clinical Genetics of Colorectal Cancer

Dr. Randall W. Burt, Professor of Medicine and Acting Executive Director of the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, discusses the clinical genetics of gastric and colorectal cancer (CRC). He describes the genetics of inherited syndromes such as HNPCC, Peutz-Jegher, familial adenomatous polyposis, juvenile polyposis and Cowden syndrome and provides strategies for the application of clinical genetics in the diagnosis and management of patients with inherited syndromes who are at risk for gastric cancer and CRC.
